Mild pressure, near heart?

For the past 8 hours or so I've been having a feeling of mild pressure in my upper left chest. It's in a very localized area, and it's not crushing. This pressure comes and goes. It just feels sort of like somebody is resting a single finger just below my left breast. There is no pain. I have no breathing trouble. My heart is beating at a normal rate. I exercise regularly.

I have a history of anxiety/panic. Between the ages of 19-23 I had a barrage of heart rests, 7+ EKGs, an echocardiogram, chest X-Rays, and several doctors listened to my heart through a stethoscope. There were no abnormalities then. It's only been a few years since then, so the probability of this being cardiac seems unlikely?

So my question is, has anybody had experience with localized pressure in the upper left chest that was non-cardiac? I'm wondering if anxiety could be the cause of this, as I have been under stress recently.

Sometimes it's spasms. Sometimes it's anxiety, or even stress. Even slight heartburn can cause this type of feeling. But if you haven't been by the doctor's for a few years, then it would be best to swing by and get checked out to be on the safe side. A lot of things do change over the course of time and age.
