What job would be enough to live on my own?
I am 21.. in college and it is going nowhere. Tomorrow I am talking to a EMS Academy Instructor and hopefully I can register to begin EMT-B classes. However, if this does not work out I am considering working at a nursing home. I want to make enough so I can move out.. my home life is h@#$ and I cant focus on anything. Living in a trailer with 8 people is not helpful to me. I just want to be on my own.. what jobs could I apply for? I do have a Associates in Arts degree.. what about a nursing home.. how would I go about that?
Continue with college you will regret it if you dont. take classes part time and work at the nursing home full time. Consider renting a room or getting a room mate to start off for moving out you will need furniture, dishes, etc....it cost me over 2k when I moved out of my parents house 14years ago. living on your own is Hard but i agree you need to get out if your living situation is horrible . take a job that can pay your bills and buy yu food. continue school once you move out I bet school will be better. Talk to a counselor's and see what your interested in to make it work. good luck with everything.

Do you think our choices are fate?
Sure, some people think that we all have a predetermined fate and others think that freedom of choice prevents that. But, what if making a certain choice IS your fate? In other words, what if you were supposed to make that choice anyway?
I'm currently caught in an education/career choice between what is best for me and what i love to do-- what I'm passionate about. I won a full-ride scholarship that would make me a Navy Nurse, but after doing ambulance rideouts for my EMT class I've fallen in love with working in EMS. I've considered rejecting it to become a Paramedic--- I love it that much. What should I do?
Punt. No just kidding. John Calvin proposed that our fate was predestined. Calvinists today have moved away from that. His contemporary, John Wesley argued that God provides us with free will and we can determine our own fate. Sometimes God does call us to something however.
Having said that, let me say that your line of interest will change two to five times before you finally settle on something for good. Sometimes these changes talk place over a lifetime. Right now you are not going to be satisfied going to Navy Nurse School. I'd advise that you follow your heart and do EMS. That is a rush that gets addictive. It may, and very well will run its course. It might take several years. When one looks across the span of a lifetime passing up the full ride will not be that big a deal because you may eventually go to school to be a nurse or an emergency room doctor. Now that's a rush.
