Heart Stethoscope Sounds
Heart rate questions.?
OK. Last month I went to my doctor to make sure I was overall OK after experiencing a few illnesses. I noticed my heart rate seems…a little higher than I’ve noticed before (I clocked it at 92 bpm last night). The doctor said my heart sounded healthy in her stethoscope.
I also noticed my lymph nodes are still a little swollen. So.
1 – Could I still be a little sick and that’s causing this?
2 – Is the summer heat/humidity possibly contributing?
3 – Is it possible I just never really paid attention to my body before being sick so often, explaining the “newness” since I never noticed? I am a bit of an anxious worry type person so I know this is a possibility.

92 is a good heart rate. You are not considered tachycardic until your heart rate goes above 100, and even a rate above 100 can be normal for some people. Dehydration can cause an elevated heart rate. Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids. Swollen lymph nodes is a sign of an infection, which can also cause an increased heart rate. You should see your primary care doctor to be checked out. If something is going on your doctor will be able to treat it. In the mean time stay hydrated.

Why do doctors ask you to take a deep breath?
During a check- up why do doctors ask patients to take a deep breath? i have a stethoscope at home and breath sounds/heart beats r pretty much the same to me during and after deep breaths r taken ...
When I ask patients to take a deep breath, I'm usually listening to the air moving into and out of their lungs. If you're normal and in a quiet room, they probably sound about the same. However, in some conditions, sound become evident only when there is a quicker, deeper breath (like wheezing in early COPD). Also, taking a big breath helps make the sounds louder, which is very helpful if there is any noise in the room.
Deep breaths can also accentuate certain heart murmurs or extra heart sounds, which can help distinguish between physiologic and pathological murmurs (or a fixed or variable S2, for instance).
Witch doctors have used repetitive sounds for thousands of years to control the psyche of their subjects, there's no mystery about it, it's very well understood. Why do you think "rap" is so popular, or if you live in Europe the spooky monotony of electro trance dance clubs. It's such a well understood phenomenon it has it's own language and is considered (wrongly) something of an art. Duh!
