Valve lash on with hydraulic valve lifters?
Have a 95 neon 2.0 with 130000 mi. Oil is changed every 3000. Engine is tight and does not yet use oil but am noticing a clicking noise like the valves need adjustment. The Chilton states all neon engines have hydralic lifters and no adjustment is required. Any ideas of something I should be looking for? I do not believe it is an exhaust leak. Sounds with long handle as a stethoscope as it is in the valve section.
It is probably just a lifter that is not filling up all the way with oil. Try an oil additive to see if it fixes it first. BG brand MOA is a good one to try.

Mystery Engine noise
knocking, engine noise?
I have an 84 camaro that has a 69 vette 350 with a mild performance cam weiand stealth manifold with a holley 650 double pumper, mated to a 700r4 tranny my problem is that I am hearing a knock similar to a lifter/rod knock between 1500 and 2500 rpms. With a stethoscope the sound is heard loudest around starter and bell housing. Any ideas?
I have retorqued the torque converter bolts, played with every available line, hose, cable
your torque converter bolts are probally backing out causing it to whack the back of the engine.... that or you could possibly have a cracked flywheel...
