Dual Head Doctor
Is a medical background necessary to get into an MPH program and get a decent job afterwords?
I'm an undergrad double major in History & Anthropology. I've noticed many MPH program websites say that a bachelor's in Anthro is fine, however I see at many schools that they offer dual degrees to become an MD. I'm not interested in being a doctor AT ALL. If I go into a Masters of Public Health program am I going to be the odd one out? and when I graduate is it going to be harder to find a job? I'm really looking for something where I can work with communities to improve their access to health care and help people understand how things they are doing (environment, diet, etc) are affecting their health through education and outreach....Am I headed down the wrong path? or is an MPH what I should be going for...?
Don't worry, the dual MD/MPH programs are aimed at medical students with an interest in public health and epi research (so it's the MPH getting tacked on, not the MD).
If an MPH student has a science/health background, it's often because they originally were premed and discovered they have no desire to actually become a doctor...so you'll be in good company and will be fine.

I have dual shoulder joint pain at night and it's occurring in both wrists. It's so severe tha I wake up
crying. It's like my shoulders get locked and I have to have my hubby throw them over my head to break them free. Them same is starting in both wrists. I have been on anti-inflamitories and no help. In the mornings when I wake it's like there is a numb-muscle weakness in my joints its hard to lift my coffee cup.Once I get moving and about the house the pain and weakness almost subsides. I have tested negative for MS and Lupus . The pain is so excruciating and I'm a woman and only 37 years old. What could be going on?? Anyone with similar symptoms? The doctor just tells me to take an anti-inflamatory. It seems alot worse now the weather has turned colder. I need some type of relief here.PLEASE!!
