What kind of vet would you call this guy?
All he did was hold a stethoscope to my pup's chest for what prolly amounted to five seconds, wiggle her ears *anyone know why?* and then check her eyes on request. Didn't weigh her, didn't get her to even stand up for him, didn't even ask how old she was. Should I be concerned?
He also tried to give her a vaccine she already had, practically had the needle in her before he stopped, even though we were protesting as soon as he was reaching for the needle. To top it off, he reffered to our male dog as a she repeatedly, even after being corrected, and the new female puppy as a he.
Is it a bright idea to go back to this guy? my mom's been going to him for all of our other animals, but I'm more than turned off that he treated our two STRAY cats with better care than my new papillon *yes, PB, or so the papers say* puppy.
The way it looks, you tell him what's wrong with the dog, he just doles out the meds.
Find a new vet! That does not sound good at all.

White Feet:: First draft of poem I just wrote. Comments please?
The heat of your scalpel blade
Speaking out of place
You’re making spiderwebs
Of lace,
A lattice blend across my face
The tremble of your stethoscope
Makes my heart beat faster still
Curls unfurled, fingers taut
Unwind so slowly,
Dressed to kill
White feet
Positioned neat
Veined skin frightfully streaked,
Muscle ties
Of transverse and oblique:
So weak,
So white, and skin
So sweet
Forced back with muscles in your cheeks
The tenseness of this hollow room…
Faucet booms
Impounding drops of gloom
Clear out the messy waste
It’s white, it’s bright,
Dotting still my face
This sound of this poem, with your generous and natural use of near rhymes, is both appealing and interesting. Not knowing your writing well, I have trouble seeing the focus in this poem. The title draws me to the third stanza in which the transition from feet back to cheeks seems to be pivotal; but it is difficult for me to speculate on the the nature of the medical operation taking place. The combination of stethoscope and scalpel seems unusual, though I do see that the poem keeps turning back to the speaker's face. I enjoyed many aspects of this poem, but wish I could understand it better.
I would add that some of the metaphors implicit in your subject/verb combinations or otherwise are very pleasing, especially `scalpel blade/speaking out of place.' It is clear you gave much care to the beauty and semantics of your lexicon, which I would say redounds with intellectual pleasure for the reader.
