Is my heart okay????
First of all I am 21 years old, exercise once a week and 100 pounds, 5'1. So I was just sitting on my couch eating breakfast when I started to feel my heart pump hard, not too fast, just hard. Felt like I had a butterfly inside my chest for like 3 beats. I took out my stethoscope and listened to my heart for about 2 minutes. It is pumps faster when i take a breath. Is it normal for my heart to change speeds of pumping when I am just sitting down? Should I go see the doctor about this?
That's completely normal.
The heart is supposed to speed up slightly when we breathe in. It's called sinus arrhythmia. There's a short Wikipedia article about it if you're more interested.
On a side note... you're 21 and only weigh 100lbs? That's a bit underweight, don't you think?
