Ford Fiesta - Wheel bearing noise?
My car has now been into my local independant garage 5 times for a noise which sounds like a faulty wheel bearing (have had faulty bearing on old car) in the passenger footwell. It has so far had 4 new bearings and a new hub on the passenger side and 1 new bearing on the drivers side (hub has been checked and is ok). They checked all of the wheels with an electronic stethoscope and they all seem to be ok.
However - the noise is STILL there!
I really dont know how many more chances to give this garage, i think they have had enough tries and they really cant seem to figure it out. At least they are not charging me until they work out what is causing it but its really inconvenient to have to keep taking it in. I'm seriously thinking of just taking it to an expensive main dealer to have it sorted.
Can anyone give me any advice on any other faults that could cause a whirring noise in the passenger footwell? The whirring speeds up and slows down with the speed of the car.
well it defiantly sounds like a bearing but have you had you gear box checked as it could be you thrush bearing

My engine is making a whirring sound .I think it's either the bearing on?
the steering pump,water pump,or alternator. Some one said squirt water on the belt ,but that didn't do anything .I couldn't tell with a stethoscope ,either.I tried lubricating the bearing on the tensioner pully, didn't do nothing .Any other suggestions to determine where the noise is coming from ? Thanks
Check your power steering fluid. If it's low, it could be making a whirring sound. The other option would be to remove the belt and turn each pulley. They should spin freely with no noise or drag.
