How do young medical doctors show off?
Please give your reasons...
Mine is they alawys have they stethoscope on their necks...
They have bags, large pockets, but no they will have it on they necks.
I don't think the stethoscope around the neck is showing off. They are hard to get out of the lab coat pocket, and you are constantly using it. This is also common with nurses, medical assistants, PAs/FNPs... Now I did know one case of someone obviously trying to show off, but this is an exception.
Young doctors show off by acting smart, acting like they can't make mistakes, like they know everything, not appreciating the help of experienced RNs, lab techs, radiology techs, etc... It is less common among older doctors.
I am a medical student beginning clinical rotations. I would say far less than half of my class is stuck up, show offy, or braggy (strangely, the class before us had a higher percentage of braggards, show offs, don't know why, but even then it was probably 50-50).
By the way, the young doctor jerks are primarily from rich families and doctors' kids (of course, this isn't always true, but more often than not). Imagine your first job ever(post-residency) is a few hundred thousand a year. You've never been without money, and can't associated with people with problems. Of course you'd be a jerk, you can't relate to people!
I don't think most doctors aren't jerks. Most of the long-term patients I talk to like their doctors (like in hospice, dying patients)... But another thing is doctors seem nicer to you if you are really sick (maybe more so than if you are coming in for something minor, but thats more human nature).

The sentences you're supposed to help me with are as follows:

However, the sentences are strange enough in English, they don’t make more sense in German! (I wonder why you and I took the pain at all to translate them in the first place!!!)
