Does a stethoscope work to hear babys heartbeat?
I used a stethoscope today but couldn't hear my babys heartbeat! Does this actually work, I'm 17 weeks so is it just that its not strong enough? Or should I be worried I haven't got another midwife app until 24 weeks, will I keep trying?? I really wanted to be able to hear it an now I'm a bit worried, has anyone else used this before? Has it worked for you? Thanks
Hi. There is nothing to be heard on a stethoscope, especially at 17 weeks the baby is really small and can be hiding really well. I'm 33 weeks and can't even hear my baby with a stethoscope, if that helps to comfort you! I bought an Angelsounds Fetal Doppler on Amazon so that I could hear the heartbeat, check into it if you're interested it definitely works and I've never NOT found it, so it's comforting to use until you can feel your baby moving 
So don't worry yourself everything is going good! A stethoscope won't pick up anything
