Possible hearing hypersensitivity?
Since I was little, I have always been sensitive to sounds. I remember lying on my mom's bed, and when she would come up and speak softly in my ear I would have to plug it with my finger because of the pain. I also cringe at sounds that don't bother other people like potato chip bags, anything styrofoam, wet shoes, the back of a tv, etc. Lately, I've noticed that I have a real problem understanding people in certain situations (like in a crowd) and I'm having difficulty using my stethoscope (I'm a student in the medical field).
Do you think I could have a hypersensitivity to sound? Who could I contact for more information? Do you know if these symptoms fit? What are the treatments?

I have this too in my right ear really bad. I thought it was an ear infection or swimmers ear, but the Ear Nose and Throat specialist said my ear looked fine. Sounds that don't bother most people send me into a rage where I used to tell strangers to stop crumpling their hamburger wraps or bags, etc.
I have a couple of theories. One is allergies. I also have been also getting angioedema (allergic reaction) and the facial swelling is making my ear feel full. I notice my hearing is more hypersensitive when my angioedema is the worst.
Another theory is that the root of my back wisdom tooth is hitting the facial nerve or ear. I may get it pulled soon. For all I know it could be a cracked or infected tooth.
Another theory is some sort of Eustachian Tube Dysfunction.
Last is a magnesium deficiency.
I would go to a Ear Nose and Throat specialist.

IS my adrenal glands problem a serious condition?
OKay so i went to visit a fitness doctor during the week and before we started he said he was going to check my vitals. He did this Adrenal Stress test which was using the arm cuff and stethoscope to get my blood pressure LYING down (114/68) and again STANDING up (102/70) and apparently both numbers should either be the same or the second one (the one standing up) should be a bit higher. As you can see my second reading was over 10 points below. He said it meant that my adrenal glands were being overused due to stress, gave me a worried look, and said that i should contact my main physician about it. He seemed worried about it but i didnt ask much about it. My main question is.. IS my adrenal gland problem a serious condition??? Should i just try to work on lowering my stress or is it something that i really should get checked out??? what do you think?? Thanks! -Iliana
Blood pressure is not an adrenal test.
It is an indication that that there is an issue with how your body manages fluids. It could from many different sources and there could be so many reasons - that to just assume adrenals, well, it is not logical.
I have this same issue and I had it when I had too much cortisol as well as not enough - which is high and low cortisol.
Adrenal gland disorders are serious - but the testing for them is with blood, urine and saliva, and while they take the BP into consideration - it is not the only factor.
You should see a cardiologist in regards to the POTS - which is what the test you have shows - and then if you are showing signs of adrenal disorders - fatigue, etc. then get that checked out.
