Can Schrodingers cat be said to posses enough intelligence to collapse the probability wave?
and would it do it before the box has been opened by an external viewer?
schrodingers cat in a box experiment states that the cat is in a superposition of states until the box is opened and observed, then it "decides" wether to be alive or dead as a result of the release of the radioactive particle.
at what point does the intelligence of the observer come into the equation? would mechanically opening the box and placing a stethoscope and tape recorder against the cats chest be enough to collapse the probability wave and determine the state of the cat? or does the observer have to be able to intelligently interpret the state of the cat?
and if the observer has to be intelligent, not purely mechanical, can the cat posess enough intelligence to collapse the wave, making the whole paradox pointless?
to summarize, can the cats own observation of its physical state be enough to collapse the wave?

when does the cat become alive or dead...??
any observation of the cat in the box would trigger the collapse.. so a geiger counter next to the box detecting the break down of the particle would do the same as opening the box.. as would the stethescope.. as you would go from the alive/dead cat with 2 probabilities to just one.. either alive or dead.
OR
Does the triggering of the device to relese the gas act as if it were the observation.
does a tree falling in a forest make a sound if noone's around to hear it? (or record the sound).. from a physics point of view yes. but the point of the cat was to get around the assumptions of reality
