I want to buy a new electronic scope, but not sure of the diifference between the littman 3000 or the 3100?

The electronic 3000 is a great scope- it reduces background noise by up to 75% and you can amplify the sound you hear by up to 18 times.

HOWEVER

The littmann 3100 is an improved version of the 3000. Background noise is reduced by up to 85% and sound can be amplified by up to 24 times. The cool thing is the LCD screen that shows the patients heart rate and this updates every 2 seconds. It is also really easy to change the battery (you need to use a tool on the 3000, but the case just slides open on the 3100)

I have a 3000 but am definitely going to get a 3100 having tried one at an exhibition. They are really cool and a great help- make sure you get your name engraved on it though- this will help to reduce the chances of it being stolen. I've seen a company called Medisave offer free laser engraving on the chestpiece. Other companies offer the engraving, but they normally charge or engrave on the tubing (which my friend has, and I prefer the chestpiece engraving).
