Have you used a stethoscope to hear your baby's heartbeat?
I'm not going to spend money on a doppler, but I think it would be fun for me and hubby to listen to his heartbeat on a stethoscope. The baby books say you can hear it by pressing your ear to the belly if the room is very quiet, but he hasn't been able to hear anything. I'm 27 weeks.
Yes, my husband was able to hear the heartbeat at 26 weeks with a stethoscope. It may also partially depend upon the baby's position. With my first one, the doctor did not hear the heartbeat until 33 weeks.

Wow. that sounds like a great book! I'm trying to get into a bit of meditation, and wish I'd started earlier. I discovered a source of pretty new age music and like to play it while I recline in my hubby's ugly chair with candles glowing. If I HAD any tension, it melts into nothing.
I've heard that people who meditate can focus on their baby's heartbeat, and they feel more lonely once the baby's born because its just them again. maybe better I don't get too used to him in there…]]>
