help with my h1n1 scaredness!?
so i had fever for 3 days then got really sick, then felt better but had cough and chest pains and green phlegm, all that yummy stuff.
k so 2 weeks later i went to the doc he said i probably had the h1n1 and now was suffering from a sort of bronchitis (he said my lungs werent wheezy or anything) so i got on azithromycin and felt better. so a week after BOOM green phlegm again and chest pains....he did say my respiratory system would be pretty crappy for like 6 weeks...my aunt took her stethoscope to my lungs (nursing school student) and said my lungs sounded really strong and she heard no wheezing whatsoever. i don't have a fever or any blood in my phlegm. soooo, maybe just my body still trying to kick it?
any advice?

First, try and relax.
You'll be ok. I just recently recovered from H1N1 myself. I didn't get it serious but mild. I had similar symptoms you had. I had a fever for about 2 days and returned a couple of days later. I had cough and some chest pains and I was coughing up phlegm. (yucky stuff lol).
I went to the doctor a couple of days after I first got my fever and was told I had a mild case of H1N1. Although I didn't get any respiratory problems I did have stomach problems for the second week of the illness after all my other symptoms left. I could tell my digestive system was screwed up because everything I consumed went right through my body.
It took 2 weeks for me to fully recover. In your case you will have on and off again symptoms. The only cause for concern would be if you had a fever that returned. If all you have is a cough and you're not coughing up any blood (which you aren't), you're OK! You will only get better, not worse.
Your body is trying to "kick it." You have to remember that H1N1 is a new virus and our bodies have never been exposed to this strain of the flu before. Also remember that H1N1 is just another strain of the flu. Drink lots of fluids, try to get some rest when you can, and follow any doctor's orders.
You WILL be yourself in no time.
You'll be fine.

How to Take Lung Sounds?

to take lung sounds..............................
Start by listening to both upper portions of the lungs by placing the stethoscope on the upper back on about a couple of inches on each side of the spine while the patient is sitting up. This is usually the best place to hear if the patient is wheezing (asthmatics) You want to go to the middle of the back, again on each side of the spine to hear the middle portion of the lungs. In order to hear the bases of the lungs, place the stethoscope on each side of the body mid axial area (imagine a line that goes straight down the body along the armpit) at the nipple line. It is here you can try to listen for rales in the base of the lungs (sounds like fine crackling) You can hear rales in patients that have congestive heart failure. Of course you need to adjust these positions based on the size of your patient but these will be good starting points.
