Listen Stethoscope

If heartbeats can only be listened through a stethoscope on the right side of the thorax, is that Dextrocardia?
A doctor checks for heartbeats on the left side of someone's thorax and doesn't found it, but he checks on his/her right side and finds it. Is that Dextrocardia?
Dextrocardia Situs Inversus refers to the heart being a mirror image situated on the right side instead of the left.

Stethoscope $58.94 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The stethoscope is an acoustic medical device for auscultation, or listening to the internal sounds of an animal body. It is often used to listen to lung and heart sounds. It is also used to listen to intestines and blood flow in arteries and veins. In combination with a sphygmomanometer, it is commonly used for measurements of blood pressure. Less commonly, mechanics stethoscopes are used to listen to internal sounds made by machines, such as diagnosing a malfunctioning automobile engine by listening to the sounds of its internal parts. Stethoscopes can also be used to check scientific vacuum chambers for leaks, and for various other smallscale acoustic monitoring tasks. A stethoscope that intensifies auscultatory sounds is called phonendoscope. I wouldn’t hang my hat on either one trying to locate a water pipe leaking in or under a slab foundation. I have had at two different time’s two water lines leaking under my slab foundation. The plumbers that I had come out both specialized in finding foundation water line leaks. Neither one could locate the leaking line. I then called some foundation repair companies they couldn’t locate the cracked / broken lines either.
The automotive stethoscope is more or less a toy compared to a medical stethoscope. The automotive stethoscope doesn’t work any better than a long screw driver placed on the parts you think maybe making the noise and placing your ear on the handle. I can however guide you to weather it is a cold or hot water line that is leaking or the supply line from the meter to the house. Close the main water valve usually located in the house close to where the waterline comes into your home ( provided it still works?) sometimes on older homes I have seen the main water shut off valve at the outside water facet where the water line connects to the house. It usually is a square rod sticking out of the ground just under the water facet. Then close off the inlet water line at the hot water heater. Make sure there is no running water at any facet or toilet. Go out and look at your water meter. The numbers that look like a speedometer odometer are not much of any use. In this case they are such coarse readings their meaningless. Look for a little triangle located in the meter area this I call a tattle tale. It requires very little water to be leaking to move it. If it is turning, wiggling or vibrating the leak is between the meter and the house. If it is not turning, wiggling or vibrating then go and open the inlet water valve at the hot water tank. Listen close, if you hear water filling the tank the leak is on the hot water side. If you don’t hear water filling the tank then go back and look at the tattle tale again. If it is turning, wiggling or vibrating the leak is on the hot water side. If it is not turning, wiggling or vibrating, Close the hot water inlet valve once again and open the main water valve in the house. Go back and view the tattle tale again. If it is turning, wiggling or vibrating the leak is on the cold water side. This procedure may sound complicated but print this out and follow it. It’s really quite easy and your going to discover which branch is at fault Supply side, cold water side or hot water side. You will need to know this even if by some miracle you are able to hear the water leak i.e. you won’t be able to hear if it’s the hot or cold water side and basically you’re only going to be able to confirm you have a leak and the very general area. I just showed you how to do 95% of that for free. You are at the very least aware which branch is involved if you have a plumber or a foundation professional come out to check for the leak. You’re going to need a plumber to do this type of repair anyway. Me? I wouldn’t bust up the foundation to repair a broken water line. I would try to determine supply, hot or cold. I would try to determine which line, bathroom, kitchen or washroom. If this can be determined I’d run the line over head in the attic using PEX water line. Insulate the water line with the tube type insulation and then roll some R-30 insulation over the top of the PEX water line. Why R-30 the tube type insulation is only R-2 why bother? Other than, the tube type insulation is cheap and it gives extra protection from external damage. Hope this helps
long answer but I wanted to give you as much detail as I could to aid you in your sucess. good luck!
I don't know the answer to your question, but I have had several leaking pipes under the slab on my 40 year old house. I used a mechanics stethoscope to determine which pipe was leaking by comparing volume when I listened to various pipes in various locations. I would think a mechanics stethoscope would be better since it has a probe and if you know the approximate location of the water line, and don't get any sound from inserting the probe into the surface you can drive a rod into the ground and go deeper. From what I read on a web site advertising an electronic leak detector ( ) the sound can travel a substantial distance depending on the pipe material and soil. Hope you find it. Good Luck…
