Blood Pressure Kits Stethoscope
Gifts to ask as a future Medical Doctor? Ideas welcome!?
I have recently been asked to create a list for the in-laws that I wish to get for christmas, and seeing as I will be pursuing a future as a medical doctor, I would love supplies that would prepare or even accompany me throughout my education. Here are a couple of examples of what I mean:
Stethoscope
Blood pressure cuff
Thermometer
A nice First Aid Kit
So, overall I just would like to know some ideas for simple, yet very useful items I should ask for Christmas. I've even found some cheap items that would seem pricey. Otoscopes that was one that was recommended as they actually are pretty cheap and durable. I think there are bargains anywhere, but I would love ideas! Thanks in advance
Have you already been accepted into medical school? Because if not, you should wait until then for all these things...schools usually have "group buys" that get you good deals. Blood pressure cuffs are in the rooms of most hospitals, so we don't carry them for the most part. Same thing with otoscopes and ophthalmoscopes. Thermometers are 99.9% used by the medical assistants, we just read the temp out of the patient's chart. The contents of a first aid kit also would be nice to have in your car, but all of those things are provided for you in the hospital.
As said above, a cardiology rated stethoscope is in the $300.00 range...Littmann Cardiology III is the standard.
As I said though, unless you have already been accepted into medical school, I'd wait to get any of these.
