Is it hard for a nursing student to learn on the Lightweight Littman stethoscope with tunable diaphragm?
I am debating on the Littman classic II stethoscope or the lightweight Littman with a tunable diaphragm, you vary the amount of pressure to use the same side as a bell so it is suppose to be more convenient and it also is made of resin so it is "non-chill". I am in nursing school and would like a nicer one then the prestige one I was given. Would it be hard to learn to use the tunable diaphragm? I also like the shape of the head on the light weight one, it is more of a triangle to fit under a BP cuff and it comes in a really pretty lilac 
I know several nurses and most say they have never heard of a tunable one and rarely if ever use the bell depending on their specialty.
Truthfully, I think it's a matter of personal preference. :0) I have several different stethoscopes because I (like you) like the varying colors and design patterns (it adds a little personality to my otherwise dreary scrubs).
