where could i find replacements for the earplugs for my littman stethoscope?
i'm a student from the philippines and i lost the earplugs for my stethoscope. i didn't know that it can be screwed off so i lost it bec i didn't took much notice.. i'm looking for a replacement but i don't know where to buy one. i want the exact same thing,.. i have the classic model.. so it's pretty old.. pls.. have some answers tnx.. =)
You can usually buy replacement parts at any home medical equipment supply store, like an uniform shop. Also, you can send it off to littman and they will completely clean it and replace all rubber parts for a nominal fee. If you go to their website look up littman stethoscopes on any search engine and they are labels and the address to send it to if you like. It comes back almost brand new.

Littman Cardio III vs Master Cardio for 2nd year Med student?
I am going to be a second year med student and I need to purchase a decent stethoscope. I'm trying to decide between the Cardio III and the Master Cardio. The price difference is only about $20. Whichever stethoscope I pick, I'm probably going to use it for several years. Has anyone tried both?
Yep. I've got the master and my brother has the Cardio III and we switch frequently.
In terms of audio quality, the master is obviously meant to be better. I'm not bad at picking up faint murmurs and don't really notice the difference between the two. There is however a remarkable difference between these two and the classics, and I think it justifies the price difference.
My advice is to get the Cardio III. The paediatric side is very useful and a lot better than the paediatric add-on for the master. The sound transmission difference is indistinguishable, and it is cheaper.
The other point I should make is that every time I have an exam, I always nick off with my brother's Cardio III. Some Doctors when examining your technique may feel that it is arrogant and presumptuous to have a stethoscope such as the cardio master. It's not worth sparking any examiner off!
